WhatsApp for Android gets a new design: camera button and communities

A new server-side update has been activated for WhatsApp for Android. The application will be redesigned with the new camera button given a prominent place. In addition, the communities are now available in the Netherlands.

If you open WhatsApp, you may notice a number of changes. These have been implemented by the developers of WhatsApp without further publicity. It is clear that a camera icon can be found in the bar at the top of the screen. It allows you to quickly take a photo and then share it as WhatsApp Status. Previously, this camera icon could be found in the leftmost tab in WhatsApp. But that is no longer the case. However, we see something different here.

The WhatsApp Communities were previously announced by WhatsApp and also rolled out. However, this feature was not immediately available to every user. That is different now, because in the Netherlands and Belgium we can finally use the function. You can organize related groups with WhatsApp Communities and send announcements to all participants of those different groups. For example, communities can be useful for schools or companies that allow you to bundle different classes and departments.
