WhatsApp drills into group chats: Note function helps against forgetting

In WhatsApp group chats, it can quickly become confusing. The makers behind the popular messenger know this too and have now come up with a solution so that important information is not lost. Especially forgetful people will love the new function.

Small innovations can sometimes have a big impact. A new feature that WhatsApp is planning for the popular group chats also falls into this category: pinned messages.

WhatsApp is working on pin feature for group chats

The name says it all: in the future it will be in Allow group chats to pin messages (Source: WABetainfo). In this way, important information should no longer get lost in the torrent of new messages. This is useful for appointments, for example. Location, date and time can then be pinned at the top of the chat. The usual questions à la “When do we want to meet again?” are then omitted.

The new feature can also be very practical in family groups – for example, to always have shared access data for streaming accounts visible.

Convenient: WhatsApp will inform users in the future (see image above) when a message has been pinned in a group chat. Because to be able to see and use pinned messages is a current WhatsApp version required.

Currently the new Pinning functionality for WhatsApp group chats tested internally. It is not yet known when Messenger will make it official and roll it out for everyone.
