What hardware will the iPhone 13 get?
Only a few weeks to go and then Apple will announce the successor to the iPhone 12. As usual, the company keeps its teeth tight, but luckily the rumor circuit is working overtime. We are therefore perfectly able to share some expectations in advance.
A disclaimer is in order: the information is not confirmed, but based on rumours. That said, time to look ahead to the iPhone 13’s hardware.
1. New processor for iPhone 13 family
We expect Apple to announce direct successors for the iPhone 12 devices and thus release four new smartphones. These will most likely all get the same processor, just as they are now.
Because Apple always maintains a logical structure in the numbering of these chips, it is only logical that the iPhone 13 gets an A15 chip. Its predecessor, the iPhone 12 from 2020, runs on an A14 and the iPhone 11 from 2019 is controlled by the A13 processor.
Of course, the A15 chip is faster than its predecessor. How much speed gain will be made is still uncertain. In any case, it is certain that Apple makes the chip itself and focuses on energy efficiency. Each new processor is slightly more economical than its predecessor, which is good news for battery life. After all, you spend longer with your device before it has to be recharged again.

2. ‘iPhone 13 Pro gets more storage’
If we look at the other specifications, it seems especially the iPhone 13 Pro (Max) is going to take steps. Rumor has it that you can expand the best Apple smartphone of 2021 from 512GB to a maximum of 1TB capacity. This is especially good news for photographers, videographers and other people who deal with heavy files a lot.
Even if you don’t need that much storage, this is good news. Usually, Apple chooses to also expand the entry capacity with an expansion. That means that the iPhone 13 comes with at least 128 or 256GB of storage, instead of 64GB as with the iPhone 12.
3. Working memory stays the same
There remains one more part of the expected iPhone 13 hardware: the amount of working memory (RAM). RAM is best thought of as the short-term memory of an iPhone. For example, this feature keeps your recently opened apps running in the background, so you can just pick up where you left off.
Because no concrete rumors about the working memory of the iPhone 13 have come out yet, we assume that little will change here. The iPhone 12 comes with 4GB of RAM, so this may also be the case with its successor. If we look at the iPhone 13 Pro (Max), we are betting on 6GB of RAM for the same reason.
