What the traffic light brings you
The traffic light coalition has come to an agreement. Although the contract is not yet in the dry cloths, it should bring some advantages for citizens. Especially with the currently rising prices, some of them should be well received.
The coalition talks between the SPD, the Greens and the FDP were successful. In the coming days, Germany is waiting for the signing of the 178-page treaty that the soon-to-be government parties will sign. Some relief for citizens is planned.
Electricity, home office, flat-rate energy: traffic light wants to relieve the citizen
So intended for private households and businesses the price of electricity will fall, after having risen steadily recently and the kilowatt hour price marked new highs this year. The aim is to achieve this by no longer adding the EEG surcharge (Renewable Energy Sources Act) to the electricity price.
But prices are not only rising sharply for the price of electricity: because energy prices are climbing overall, including for heating oil and gas, a one-off payment should be made Heating allowance for low-income households to be paid. We have not yet become specific, the amount of the planned one-off payment is accordingly unknown.
For a little plus in the wallet of citizens, in addition to the higher minimum wage the home office flat rate care for. She wants to extend the traffic light, so it can also be credited for the tax year 2022 (source: ZDF). It is not said, however, that these plans will be able to counter the rising costs, among other things due to energy prices.
But if there is even a little more money left over, a lot can be done with it:
E-cars: Funding continues, but less
When it comes to combustion, everything stays the same: 2035 should end instead of 2030 as planned by the Greens. Funding for electric cars will continue, including plug-in hybrids. In the future, however, the actual environmental impact should be included in the funding. It is therefore important that hybrid vehicles are driven electrically as much as possible. In addition, the Gradually lower funding.
The mobile phone networks also find their place in the traffic light paper. Accordingly, the frequency allocation should be in the future concentrate on the supply in the area. What exactly this means for the upcoming possible reassignment remains unclear. However, there is already talk that there will be no new frequency auction – probably to the disadvantage of 1 & 1.
Mobile communications and WiFi on train journeys should be better, that too, almost in the eye, if only in a very general way. Current network tests show that improvement is necessary. Because, especially on trains, the performance of all three network operators leaves a lot to be desired.
Fiber optics for everyone, but how?
When it comes to digitization, the specifications remain incomplete – similar to the fiber optic expansion, which is given priority after all. The goal is Comprehensive fiber optic supplyAccording to the coalition agreement. There will be no digital ministry that was originally planned. It was agreed to force the “digital awakening”. For example, a single digital budget should be created in the household.
