What Samsung should learn from this wrong decision
Not every decision Samsung has made with its Galaxy smartphones in recent years was right. This year, too, as an insider reveals. Therefore, Samsung should also think about a change of strategy.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: An S Pen doesn’t make a Note phone by a long way
Long before the new Galaxy S21 smartphones were introduced, there were rumors that Samsung would discontinue the Note series and give the S21 an S Pen. One of the two points has occurred. At least with Galaxy S21 Ultra you can use an S Pen. It remains to be seen whether the Note series will be discontinued as a result. Currently, however, there is a rumor going around exactly on this topic, according to which the S Pen for the S21 Ultra at all does not go down well. The expectations were clearly undercut and the feedback from customers was also poor. It is simply not enough to include a pen with a normal cell phone.
Samsung has therefore dared to try a realignment with its smartphones and to offer added value for customers of the S-Class. But they just don’t want the S Pen. One reason for this is probably the inability to accommodate the S Pen in the housing. With the Note series, the pen can simply be pushed into the housing and cannot be lost. For the S21 Ultra, on the other hand, Samsung only offers a case that simply makes the smartphone unsightly. Samsung has to completely rethink the placement of the S Pen in the S series or continue to offer Note smartphones. Basically, there is a certain need for smartphones with pen operation – just not in the form in which Samsung probably imagines it.

Will there be a Samsung Galaxy Note 21 this year?
That is the big question that is currently open. According to the latest rumors, it will no more Galaxy Note 21 and Galaxy Note 21 Ultra this year. Instead, Samsung wanted to switch to the fold devices and possibly also offer an S Pen there. If the mood doesn’t change or Samsung finds a new solution to the problem, the Note smartphone should be offered again by 2022 at the latest. At least it would not be the first time that there is no Note smartphone in Germany in a year.
