The year is almost coming to an end and that’s why Spotify thinks it’s time to launch Wrapped 2022. Which songs were the most popular in the Netherlands last year and what did you play the most?

Spotify Wrapped

Spotify always comes with Wrapped at the end of the year. This is an annual overview specially made for you in which you can view your most listened to songs, podcasts and artists, among other things. So you will find the music genres you enjoyed the most, the songs you listened to the most this year, the podcasts you couldn’t get enough of and the total number of hours you listened to music via the streaming service. All this is shown to you in a cool way through different menus and animations. You also get the option to share your Wrapped list in order to compare it with friends.

Wrapped 2022: what did we listen to the most in the Netherlands?

In a press release, Spotify reports that Antoon is the most listened to artist in the Netherlands in 2022. Last year he was still in seventeenth place. Ed Sheeran, The Weekeknd, Drake and Davind Guetta follow him in the top five.

Kris Kross Amsterdam ft. Antoon and Sigournex K is the most streamed number on the service. ‘As it Was’ by Harry Styles is in second place. MEAU is also doing well, her earwig ‘That have you done’ is also in the list of most streamed songs in the Netherlands. In total there are no less than eleven artists in the top twenty of most streamed artists in our country.

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny is the most streamed artist worldwide, with Taylor Swift coming in at number two. Drake is further in third, Ed Sheeran and BTS in fourth and fifth.

Most listened to podcasts

The most listened to podcasts in the Netherlands is, just like last year, ‘Geuze en Gorgels’. Sam and Rijk are in second place with their podcast ‘BROERS’, ‘NU.nl news’ completes the top three.

Your own Wrapped 2022

As of today, Spotify users can also view and of course listen to their own annual overview, which can be found in the app. Spotify hereby reports that Wrapped has a number of new features this year. Below we list them for you:

• From this year you can also share Wrapped on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Snapchat users can get a special Wrapped filter.
• The Wrapped hub is where you can find merchandise from your most listened to artists.
• In ‘Your Listening Personality’ Wrapped shows you which personality suits your listening behaviour. It turns out I’m an out with many shells, a real adventurer looking for new sounds.

What did our editors listen to?

Rammstein appears to be a welcome guest at our editorial office, with Claudia and Dimitry he is in the top five of most listened to artists. Claudia also liked to listen to Ludovico Einaudi and Dimitry to Goldband. Sebastien liked to listen to Muse, Dr. Dre and John Williams. Every night his Star Wars music accompanies him to dreamland.

Laura appears to be more of a fan of The Weeknd, as no less than four songs by this artist are in her top five. However, her most listened to song is not his, which is credit to Rema with ‘Calm Down’. Michael Jackson, CVBZ, Hellberg, Why Don’t We and NOTD are the top five most listened to artists of yours truly. You can find our entire top lists below.
