iPhone 14 hardware: these are the expectations
Are you also looking forward to the iPhone 14? We also! Fortunately, the successor to the iPhone 13 is coming soon, but Apple does not want to say anything about it yet. However, there are already enough rumors that we already know quite a few things about the new device.
1. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro get different chips
It’s striking, but the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max get a different chip than the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Several rumors tell us that the iPhone 14 (Max) will get the A15 chip. This is the chip that you will also find in the iPhone 13. The iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max get slightly different hardware, namely the new A16 chip. This chip is also a bit more powerful than the A15.
Still, we think it doesn’t matter very much that the iPhone 14 doesn’t get an A16 chip. The A15 chip is still lightning fast. Even the A14 chip that you will find in the iPhone 12 is still fine and all apps run very smoothly.
2. More RAM for iPhone 14
Since the iPhone 11 Pro, Apple’s flagships have 6GB of working memory (RAM). At the end of last year, analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities already claimed that the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro will get 8GB of RAM. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will then go to 6GB.
However, the above is not certain. Because according to other rumors, all iPhone 14 models will get 6GB of RAM. But the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have faster RAM.

3. The camera gets a big upgrade
The iPhone 14 gets even more new hardware. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the front camera of the iPhone 14 will receive a major upgrade. The first adjustment is autofocus, the current front camera still has a fixed focus. With an autofocus you will have an even sharper image.
Another change is that the aperture gets better, from f/2.2 (iPhone 13) to f/1.9. This will allow more light to enter the camera and the photos you take in the dark will look a bit better.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max get even more upgrades. According to Kuo, the biggest upgrade for the Pro models will be a 48-megapixel camera.

4. No Notch (on some models)
Perhaps the biggest hardware change of the iPhone 14 Pro is the disappearance of the notch. The large notch makes way for two holes. At least, on the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. With the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max, the well-known notch is probably still showing off at the top of the screen.

iPhone 14 prices
Prices will also change this year. Several rumors indicate that Apple will increase the prices of the iPhone 14 Pro by at least $100. This will then be 100 euros in the Netherlands.
If this rumor is indeed true, then you will pay about 1259 euros for the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro. For the larger iPhone 14 Pro Max you pay at least 1359 euros. Of course, the price can be even higher if you opt for an iPhone with more storage space.
In short, these are the expected iPhone 14 prices:
- iPhone 14: 909 euros
- iPhone 14 Max: 1009 euros
- iPhone 14 Pro: 1259 euros
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 1359 euros
