we now pay that much more for groceries
Shopping was not our biggest hobby, but certainly not with the current prices. According to a survey by GfK, we have started paying 11 percent (!) more in the past six months.
This means that families spend on average 800 euros more expensive per year. Converted about 15 euros per week.
Cart full of groceries
The researchers do their shopping every month. At the end of August they paid 100 euros for a shopping cart with 55 basic foodstuffs, such as fruit, bread and toothpaste. This month the amount for the same groceries was much higher: 111.30 euros.

Cheaper supermarkets
Not entirely striking: according to the research, the Dutch are increasingly shopping at cheap supermarkets, such as Lidl, Aldi and Dirk. The same goes for people with a bigger wallet. We also fly from supermarket to supermarket, looking for the cheapest offers. The butcher, greengrocer and fishmonger are a lot less popular.
