We take a look into the future: We have summarized for you what we already know, what will happen in 2023 and what is still being rumoured.

As every year, the next generation of technology actually starts a few months earlier: Qualcomm presented the new top chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, in mid-November, with which the upcoming flagships – including the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra – are to be powered. The 2023 even in Europe: Apparently, the Koreans also want to say goodbye to the in-house Exynos SoCs in Europe in favor of the Qualcomm chip. There will also be some new features in the foldables: A new folding mechanism could ensure a display without a visible or noticeable edge.

But there will not only be foldables from Samsung. Oppo has already announced its new foldable for the Chinese home market – it is still unclear whether it will even come onto the market in Germany. According to reports, Google is also working on a foldable pixel, but the performance of the “Pixel Fold” is said to be somewhat disappointing according to the latest rumors.

And Apple? We don’t have to expect a foldable iPhone for the time being, that should still be in the distant future. But at least there is said to be great progress with the legendary AR headset from Apple, so that it currently seems possible to present it in the summer at the annual WWDC developer conference. The biggest change in the iPhone 15 could be the naming: the “Pro Max” could become the “Ultra” to unify the naming among Apple products.

From January 1st, a new funding guideline for electric cars will apply, with the bonuses falling.

After the success of the 9-euro ticket in the summer of 2022, a successor is to come in 2023. With the 49-euro ticket – as with the 9-euro ticket – it should be possible to travel nationwide in local transport in the coming year. The launch is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
