According to the usually reliable Mark Gurman, Apple will make a few “significant changes” in watchOS 10. He says that the update introduces a new design and that Apple will mainly focus on widgets in watchOS 10.

According to Gurman, you can compare the look of watchOS 10 to the current “Siri” watch face and widget stacking, which you can already do on iPhone and iPad. You will soon be able to browse through different widgets without having to open the corresponding app first. The widgets can then be used by any watch face, according to Gurman.

The Apple expert also says that Apple is also considering adjusting the function of the Digital Crown (the round button on the side of the Apple Watch). Here’s why watchOS 10 is going to be a major update

Gurman has said before that watchOS 10 is going to be a really big update. This, he says, is because the Apple Watch Series 9 will only be a minor hardware update. Apple will therefore mainly focus on the software. So it’s not surprising that watchOS 10 gets a new design with a greater focus on the widgets.

According to rumors, a major update to the Apple Watch hardware will not arrive until 2024. This will therefore be the first Apple Watch with a micro-LED screen.

When is watchOS 10 coming?

The new version of watchOS 10 will be officially unveiled during WWDC 2023. During this annual event, Apple will present software updates for almost all products. This year the conference will take place from 5 to 9 June. So you have to be patient a little longer.
