Watch this film now for free
Normally, only Prime members watch films and series on Amazon “for free”, but there is also a generally free alternative – Amazon Freevee. From now on you will see a really good comedy there.
Amazon Freevee is really free because, unlike Amazon Prime Video’s streaming flat rate, you don’t have to be a paying Prime member. The bearable downer: Smaller advertising breaks, but they are usually much shorter than in German private television.
Free at Amazon: “Anchorman” now available at Freevee
From now on you can at Amazon Freevee also see a hilarious comedy in which a lot of stars have appearances. In “Anchorman – The Legend of Ron Burgundy” see starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd and Steve Carell, who were just starting their film careers back in 2004 (see Amazon Freevee).
Christina Applegate will also be there – many of you will surely remember her as “Kelly Bundy”. And then there is also guest appearances including Tim Robbins, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson.

The synopsis from Amazon reveals more, but actually doesn’t matter in the end, because the film lives more on his situation comedy than from “Content”: “In the early ’70s, local news announcer Ron Burgundy was the undisputed socialite in San Diego, California. However, the self-esteem of the appointed playboy takes a hit when the station management assigns the career-conscious and, above all, frighteningly competent Veronica Corningstone as co-host.”
How good is the movie?
Is the movie worth it? Successful at least he was before. With a budget of 26 million US dollars, “Anchorman – The Legend of Ron Burgundy” still grossed over 90 million US dollars worldwide and even got a sequel ten years later (Anchorman – The Legend Returns).
But it wasn’t quite as well received as the original, because it received an IMDb rating of 7.1 points out of a maximum of 10. The pros at Rotten Tomatoes were a little more critical and awarded “only” 66 percent. However, the film was better received by the audience and dropped 86 percent positive reviews a. Ergo: It’s best to see for yourself.
