Waiting for a new Xbox Series X or buying one now?
The PlayStation 5, but also the latest Xbox is still difficult to obtain. Is it worth waiting for a new version of the Xbox Series X?
They’ve only been available for a year, but some fans will no doubt be looking further ahead. It is not uncommon for Sony and Microsoft to release newer variants of existing consoles. And if you haven’t been able to buy one yet, I understand the thought that you’d rather wait for an update. However, in the case of the Xbox Series X, you should not expect a new variant. That’s what Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in IGN’s Podcast Unlocked.
New Xbox Series X?
He says the Xbox Series X in its current form will be sold for years to come. In short, you should not expect an update for the console for the time being. If you are still in doubt about buying one, you can do so with confidence. Spencer states that the device has been developed in such a way in terms of hardware that it should last a long time. Precisely to prevent interim updates that entail better hardware.
Whether there will eventually be another version of the Xbox Series X and perhaps also the PlayStation 5 is difficult to say. Personally, I think there is a chance, but then we are at least five to seven years further, I guess. Start at the beginning first: large stocks so anyone who wants can buy a PS5 or XSX/S.
