Vivo patented a smartphone with a built-in drone

The device depicted in the patent looks at first glance like a normal smartphone. It has a fairly large display at the front, while the volume buttons and power button are located on the right side. However, there is a slide-out slot at the bottom of the phone that holds a small drone. It is equipped with four propellers, two cameras and infrared sensors. It will probably be controlled using a smartphone.

Such a tweak obviously has its advantages and disadvantages. The device made on the basis of this patent would first of all be very specialized and used only by a small group of people. It could please photographers who like to use drones to take interesting photos, but don’t want to carry a large and heavy drone. Thanks to its compact size, the device would be ideal for travel and it would probably not be a problem even to charge it, as it would be charged using a smartphone.
In terms of disadvantages, this drone would have to be small and light to fit into the body of the smartphone. The lighter his body, the more prone to wind the drone and the harder it is to control it. Conversely, a smartphone would probably have to be thicker and heavier, and Vivo would potentially have to compromise a few on the device’s hardware.
However, we must not forget that this is just a patent and a smartphone with a drone may never be introduced. And even if it were, it would only serve as an interesting innovation that Vivo can boast of, and not as the future of smartphones.
