Vivaldi is no longer just a browser. A translator or calendar has been added

The Vivaldi project, which is known mainly for the Internet browser of the same name for computers and Android, among other things, has one of the most significant upgrades. The developers have launched into the world Vivaldi 4.0, which represents not only the browser, but now also translator, calendar, email client and RSS reader. According to the authors, all new features are intended to provide an alternative to the “Big Tech” applications of companies, primarily Google and Microsoft. Most of the news is available in “Fully loaded” mode, which was also newly introduced along with Classic and Essential modes.

New features in Vivaldi 4.0

Vivaldi Translation

Like other innovations, the translator is built directly into the browser and offers a very similar environment to web translation from Google. For languages, it is possible to turn on their automatic translation, or turn off its bidding completely. It works almost identically on computers and Android phones. Its biggest attraction is that, unlike the competition, it does not store any data anywhere.

Email Client (Vivaldi Mail Beta)

For now, a trial version of this “mailbox” can combine messages from multiple accounts into one inbox. Classic POP3 or IMAP protocols are supported, and pairing with Gmail is also available. Mail search is also offered by Vivaldi offline.

Calendar (Vivaldi Calander Beta) and RSS reader (Vivaldi Feed Reader)

Vivaldi’s calendar is set to be in direct competition with the same service from Google, whose format it can also accept. There are three different display modes and a lot of different editing options. The reader not only offers common grouping and displaying content from popular sources, but can also subscribe to YouTube channels or podcasts. In addition, it manages to highlight the subscription option as you browse the site.
