Apple finally presents the Vision Pro

We had to wait a long time, but Apple finally presented the Vision Pro at WWDC 2023. Apple’s first headset is extremely advanced and takes over the tasks of your Mac, iPhone and Apple TV. The glasses are therefore also referred to by Apple as a ‘spatial computing system’, or ‘spatial computer’.

The Vision Pro basically replaces your Mac(Book), but can also work with it. The headset is an extensive addition to your office, because the Vision Pro can even take over the screen of your Mac. And that’s not all, because the glasses can do much more with the screen than is possible on your Mac. We explain how this handy feature of the Vision Pro works.

Vision Pro will soon replace (the screen of) your Mac

The Vision Pro itself already functions as a full-fledged, powerful computer and does not need the Mac. The glasses have an M2 and an R1 chip. There, the glasses have enough thinking power to perform heavy tasks. Do you still want to continue using your Mac(Book)? Then the Vision Pro has a handy function, because the glasses take over the screen of your MacBook.

With the function you get the opportunity to display the screen of your MacBook in large when wearing the glasses. The display of your Mac then floats in space, as it were. You decide where you place the screen and what the size of the display is. If you have several tabs open, you can place them next to each other in the environment. This will make multitasking a lot easier!

Apple Vision Pro is incredibly expensive

The Vision Pro is therefore an incredibly advanced pair of glasses and that is also reflected in the price tag. The starting price of Apple’s first headset is $ 3499, it is not yet known how much that will be in euros. The price seems high, but the Vision Pro actually replaces your Mac, iPhone and Apple TV. If you add those prices together, the amount of the Apple Vision Pro is put into perspective a little more.

We still have to wait a while for the official release of the Vision Pro. The headset will not appear until 2024. Apple mentions early next year as a release date, so we probably expect the Apple Reality around this date. The glasses will then first be released in the United States. It is not yet known if and when the Vision Pro will come to the Netherlands afterwards.
