This update is mainly intended for old iPhones. For example, the iPhone 7 still runs on iOS 15 (or an even older version of iOS). Minor iOS updates from Apple for older iPhones often no longer include new features. They do provide important updates when it comes to the security of your device. iOS 15.7.5 is no different, as this update addresses critical security vulnerabilities in Apple’s WebKit.

WebKit is the program that runs all browsers in the App Store. Browsers like Safari and Chrome all run on WebKit. In previous iOS versions, WebKit was vulnerable to malicious code. This malicious software could run in the program and caused quite a few problems on your device.

This vulnerability in WebKit had become widespread on the Internet, so it was urgent for Apple to fix the problem. This has now happened in iOS 15.7.5, but you have to download the update.
