Two popular Xiaomi smartphones are receiving an update to MIUI 12.5
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite and Mi Note 10 Lite receive a major update to MIUI 12.5. The first mentioned phone was released in the spring of this year, while the second model was released in May 2020. In both cases, these are great middle-class models. The report was brought by the Gizmochina portal.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite and Mi Note 10 Lite will soon receive MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition
The update has already started and is slowly being released for global versions, but also for EEA models (European Economic Area). For Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite global models, the update to MIUI 12.5 is designated V12.5.8.0.RKQMIXM. For the EEA version, this is the designation V12.5.6.0.RKQEUXM.
For the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite in the global version, the update is labeled V12.5.4.0.RFNMIXM. For EEA models, this is the designation V12.5.5.0.RFNEUXM.
As usual, the update is released gradually, so it is possible that it will come to us at Christmas or later this year. Likewise, EEA models may receive an update even later than the global versions.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite came to market with Android 10 and MIUI 11, got Android 11 and is currently waiting for its latest Android 12. Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite came out this year with Android 11 and MIUI 12 and for its first major update (Android 12) still waiting.
Gizmochina mentions that due to the limited availability of both models, it is possible that they will not receive long support. That would be a shame, because these are really strong models in the middle class.
