Two German cult shows are returning
RTL jumps on the retro train again and revives two well-known programs. In addition to Ulrich Wetzel, who previously directed a court show at RTL, Barbara Salesch from Sat.1 will soon be found at the station. The first show will start on September 5th.
RTL brings court shows back to television
They were extremely successful at the beginning of the millennium, but less and less over time. Court shows are past their prime, one might think. RTL sees the whole thing differently and sends along Ulrich Wetzel and Barbara Salesch two well-known legal professionals are back in the running (source: RTL).
On September 5, 2022 with “Barbara Salesch – The Criminal Court” the first edition will be shown. However, the broadcaster has not yet revealed when the second variant of the program, “Ulrich Wetzel – Das Strafgericht”, will be shown for the first time. In principle, nothing will change in the concept of the court shows, although RTL would like to raise the programs a little more modernly. For example, smartphone videos, voice messages and chat histories will play a role in finding the truth in the future.
Judge Barbara Salesch is already looking forward to “the old professionalism being combined with the latest developments”. According to Ulrich Wetzel, court shows “a sense of justice and equal treatment” communicate what is important in today’s world. Just like the previous shows, the new editions will also be produced by Filmpool Entertainment and Constantin Entertainment.
