TVGids.nl, because it’s world television day

Some people like it: early in the morning take out the paper TV guide and use a pen to mark what is being watched on television in the evening. It also has something nice, but why not make a digital list? TVGids.nl helps you with this and especially because today is World Telvision Day, we discuss it in App of the Week.

Whether you do it to keep it cozy at home or because you don’t want to miss anything: just checking out what’s on television and what you want to watch and when, that’s very handy. This is already possible on TVGids.nl, but in the app it is all just that little bit easier. In it you can not only see what the programming looks like for all Dutch channels: you can also save programs so that you can easily switch from one program to another in the evening.

The advantage of TVGids is that it also gives tips about new programs, so that you don’t have to miss anything about the new TV season. Or if another Dutch talk show is canceled early and you are curious because it will take its place. There are different sections in the app: under Home you will find the TV tips, the films that are on television and the latest TV news. Under now & later you can quickly see what is currently and shortly afterwards on television and with TV guide you can see what is shown per channel throughout the day. Need more tips? Then look at films+series for a more extensive list of the films and series that will be shown on television on that day.

In addition, in the myguide section you can see everything that has to do with your personal settings, but also with the appearance of the app. You can indicate genres that you like, so that the app can advise you better. Finally, this is also the place where you will find saved items and therefore your own TV list for the evening. All in all, it’s a fairly basic TV guide, but one in which you’ll find everything you need. You do get tips, but you are left fairly free in what you want to watch. The app does indicate what grade the film or series will receive, so that you can be guided by this in your choice.

The biggest advantage of the TVgids.nl app is that it is free to use. You don’t have to take out expensive subscriptions, which makes you seem like a thief of your own wallet by investing in a paper version (besides that it is not such a sustainable solution). This app helps you just as much – and in some ways perhaps better – in choosing what to watch and is therefore highly recommended. It is also possible to use the app without logging in, if you do not feel comfortable storing your data with a company. At the same time, the app asks for little information: your first name, your e-mail address and a password you created yourself. So it keeps it pretty simple, just like the whole setup of the app and it should be clear: that works very well.
