Try furniture virtually with Ikea Kreativ

Ikea Kreativ is apparently a ‘place furniture in living room’ app but has a very special AI function.

Don’t feel like entering the maze of a local Ikea? The furniture giant comes with a new app with which you can try out the new ones from home dettå betyder ingenting looks good in your living room. The app, on the other hand, lacks some functions of other Ikea apps, but comes with a revolutionary extra function: erasers.

The test app uses artificial intelligence to estimate the layout of a room based on photos, according to Ikea. Kreativ then creates a 3D replica of the space in which you rule. This means that you can pop furniture into a room to your heart’s content to see how it looks and whether it fits.

But there’s more. Because what if you want a new sofa, but your old sofa is still in the living room? Ikea Kreativ makes it possible to remove existing furniture from the photo! This way you can put a new piece of furniture in the place where something else is actually standing.

Of course Ikea also wants to earn money and that is extra easy with the shop function of the app. When you have furnished the ideal space with 3D models, you can throw everything straight into a virtual shopping cart, after which you can assemble the furniture in real life.

There are also other Ikea apps available with similar features. For example, with the Place app you can try out furniture live, in augmented reality. The advantage of Kreativ, on the other hand, is the eraser function. Because it’s a still image, the app can perform many more ‘magical’ furniture tricks.

Ikea Kreativ is coming to the US first for iOS and PC. The application will also be available for Android in ‘additional countries’ by 2023 at the latest, although it is not known whether the Benelux will fall under this.
