Tracetronic: This company tests car software
The Dresden-based company Tracetronic puts automotive software through its paces. The Saxons have developed their own platform for this purpose. In the site portrait we take a look behind the scenes of the company.
Whether autonomous driving or infotainment: cars are no longer purely mechanical objects. In the past 20 years, vehicle software has also developed rapidly. In the meantime, one could even confidently say that cars are computers on wheels.
In production, it is therefore essential that engineers and programmers put every line of code through its paces. This is exactly what the Saxon is concerned with software company Tracetronic.
Tracetronic: testing automotive software
The company has been dealing with automated software tests since 2004. The expertise of Tracetronic, which has its headquarters in Dresden, is mainly focused on the automotive industry.
But the Saxons also cover other related industries. Using numerous test cases, the team checks even the smallest change to the software code in different physical and virtual test environments.
To this end, Tracetronic has also developed its own platform in which the tools used seamlessly mesh and interact with one another. The customer base now includes more than 330 companies, including Audi, BMW, Continental and Volkswagen.
This is how Tracetronic from Dresden works
At the Dresden headquarters and at various international locations, more than 300 employees are now working on the Automotive DevOps platform – a continuous software tool chain for automated testing.
Tracetronic tries to keep the start-up flair in the office: In addition to the actual workplaces, the employees in Dresden can, for example, use their own volleyball court or the open kitchenette.
