Toy hypes (from the past) to have your doubts
The arrival of the new Barbie movie brings up all kinds of nostalgic feelings in us. About toys that you really had to have in the past, for example, such as a Furby, Tamagotchi or Baby Born. But was this toy really as much fun as you can remember? As an adult you look at it differently.
Furby
How scary is a Furby? Mega cute appearance, but as unpredictable as your toddler on a sugar trip. For example, that furry Furby friend from the ’90s could just wake up one day with a new one evil personality. Not something you get over easily as a child. Hasbro will release new Furby’s in a few days and luckily they now have an off button.

Tamagotchi
The first Tamagotchi was released in November 1996 and sold more than 40 million units. Part of this gadget’s name means “egg” in Japanese. And when that egg hatched, you suddenly had a digital chick to take care of. A rather demanding chick. For your feeling, after an hour of no food, the thing was already mortal. How suitable does this sound for a target group of small children? Multi-tasking is often impossible for an adult, let alone a six-year-old child. The toy was also banned in many schools because children fiddled too much with this thing in class.

Baby Born
Super sweet, such fake baby for your preschooler to mother over. Then the real baby in the box will be spared that fate. But do you remember when you could also feed the first Baby Born? Soluble doll food, that is. Powder in small bags, to which you add water, creating a paste. This still exists and costs you claws with money (read 7 euros for 12 bags). You then push that paste through the small mouth and then the wait is blown. Because where is it? Well… a part in the diaper, but it first sinks very slowly through that whole plastic body and not everything actually comes out again. It is therefore advisable to spray your old Baby Born in the attic before it runs away on its own due to the proliferation of fungi on the inside.
