Tiktok reaches milestone: One billion active users
With one billion active users per month, Tiktok is still behind Facebook, but is growing faster.
Tiktok has reached a milestone in the number of monthly active users. As the company reports, the app now has over a billion monthly active users. From music, food, beauty, art and education, many trends would start on the platform, describes Tiktok the recipe for success.
At the end of April, Tiktok was the first company outside of the Facebook group to have the brand of two billion downloads achieved. Facebook currently has 2.9 billion monthly active users, as shown by the last quarterly report from the end of July. Measured against this number, Tiktok is still behind Facebook.
With growth, however, the relationship is the other way around. While Facebook’s user numbers are growing by seven percent annually, according to the report, Tiktok said to Reuters of a growth of 45 percent compared to July last year.
According to the company, the most important markets are the USA, Europe, Brazil and Southeast Asia. In the United States, former President Donald Trump tried to force Tiktok to sell its international business to American investors. In the meantime, he had imposed a ban on the app. Current President Joe Biden has repealed the measures.
