TikTok expands its Stories test to more users
TikTok continues its test which consists of offering the story system, which is already found on Snapchat, Instagram and other applications. The social network announces that more users now have access to it.
New test for stories on TikTok
“Currently, we are expanding a pilot test that provides creators with additional formats to bring their creative ideas to life for the TikTok community”the platform told TechCrunch. However, it does not specify how many people currently have access to the stories.
Adding a video or photo to a story works very similarly to taking a photo or video for TikTok’s standard feature, with the same editing tools, effects, filters, and sounds. However, unlike a classic TikTok video, stories are not displayed directly on your profile or your videos space. In addition, they disappear after 24 hours.
Stories on the social network also lack a major feature offered by Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Whatsapp and others: the stories bar of the accounts you follow are missing in order to be able to browse them. Currently, the only way to know that a story has been posted by an account is to spot a blue circle around their profile picture. Press on the photo then to see the story.
TikTok does not yet say when everyone will be able to enjoy stories. A few weeks ? Some months ?
