What is Groupie?

Groupie is a new feature in the Tikkie app that allows you to track and settle group expenses with multiple people. With this function, ABN Amro wants to make group payments in the Tikkie app a lot easier. You can compare Groepie with the WieBetaaltWat app.

It works quickly and simply: you create a Groupie in the Tikkie app, in which participants can share their costs. Inviting members can be done via WhatsApp, among other things. You can then leave the calculations to Tikkie, so that you never have to worry about money again and do not have to calculate everything on the back of a beer mat.

Do you want to share the costs of a weekend away, a team outing or a bachelor party with family, friends or colleagues? Or do you want to track and settle long-term expenses, such as all expenses between roommates in a student house? Then follow these steps:

  1. Open the Tikkie app
  2. Tap the plus at the bottom right
  3. Choose Groupie
  4. What is the group for? Enter a name, for example ‘friends weekend’
  5. Invite your friends via WhatsApp or any other app
  6. Enter the expense(s) and indicate who pays with it (everyone or a number of people)
  7. Settle the costs with a Tikkie

View the standings

You can then follow all group expenses closely via the created Groupie and see who still owes each other what amount on balance. Groepie automatically calculates the intermediate standings. Tap the intermediate score button and immediately send a Tikkie by tapping a name. You can also choose to settle with only one person, for example because you get a lot of money back from this friend. After you have settled, the standings will be updated and your Groupie will continue as usual.

And do you have a friend who forgets to join Groupie? You can also add your friends manually. Handy, then the rest of the group can already add and divide all expenses.

With Groepie in the Tikkie app, there can be no misunderstandings, according to ABN Amro and all users always keep track of the expenses that are entered in a Groupie. This way everyone can contribute to the pot and costs are no longer a cause for concern.

Do you regularly use Tikkie? What do you think of the Groupies? Let me know in the comments.
