three super handy (mini) tips that everyone should know
You would think that all the secrets of iOS 15 are already known, but new hidden features are constantly popping up. Everyone should know these three tricks for iOS 15 because they are super handy.
Read on after the ad.
Three Quick Tricks for iOS 15 You Need to Know
At first glance, not much has changed in iOS 15, but secretly quite a lot of small tweaks have been applied. Some of these features are pretty well hidden, but we found three.
1. Move Address Bar in Safari (Just Two Taps)
You probably already know that the address bar in Safari is at the bottom of the window by default. To put it back up again, you have to dive into the settings. However, there is a much easier way to move the address bar. With the first tip of these iOS 15 tricks, move the address bar in Safari up or down with two taps.
Open Safari on your iPhone and surf to a website. Then tap the ‘aA’ button in the address bar. Choose ‘Show bottom tab bar’ to move the address bar down. If you want to move the address bar up, tap ‘Show top address bar’.
2. Notification on your iPhone when it’s going to rain
The Weather app has been given a major upgrade in iOS 15. Not only does it look better, but it also includes several new features. One of these is that you can now also receive a notification when, for example, it starts (or stops) raining. You have to turn this on.
Open the Weather app and tap the menu button at the bottom right (it’s the button with the three bars). Then tap the button with the three dots in the top right and tap “Notifications”. Tap Continue > Allow. Set the slider at ‘My location’ to on (sometimes you have to click on the ‘Settings’ button below it first).
3. Password file PDF
Since iOS 15 it is possible to lock a PDF. What you are actually doing is protecting the files with a password. This can be useful with sensitive data, such as your bank statement or a copy of your passport. You do this in the following way.
How to lock and password protect a PDF on your iPhone.
- Open the ‘Files’ app;
- Open the PDF file you want to protect;
- Tap the share icon at the bottom left;
- Scroll down and tap “Lock PDF”;
- Type the desired password in the text boxes and tap ‘Done’;
Note: there is currently no option to remove the password again. Maybe this will come in a future update.
