This week’s 5 best iPhone apps and games (#38

The weekend is almost over. Unfortunate! But you’ll probably still have some time to relax with this week’s best iPhone games! Take on Count Dracula! Or play an old-fashioned game of football! Again there is something for everyone! These are the five best iPhone apps and games of week 38!

Read on after the ad.

1. Castlevania – Grimoire of Souls

The game Castlevania is already an old acquaintance among gamers. In this classic you went into battle with Count Dracula and this is also the case in this new game. But before that happens, you must survive a huge castle and countless outdoor locations.

Very nice about this version is that the characters from previous games are playable. Each of the main characters have their own weapons and special attacks. That makes the game varied. Even the controls are easy to do on the touchscreen. The music is the showpiece, because it really sounds fantastic. Especially for fans of the old games, the music is really enjoyable. A small drawback: to play Castlevania you have requires an Apple Arcade subscription.

2. Pokemon UNITE

Are you a fan of Pokemon? Then Pokémon UNITE is the perfect game for you this week. In the game, you make a team of five players (you and four others) and compete against five other Pokemon players.

The goal is to score the most points. You do this, among other things, by defeating the enemy, by scoring points with a special pokéball and by improving your own pokémon. The game is very similar to League of Legends in that regard. Do you like that game? Then Pokémon UNITE is definitely your thing.

3. Sword Hunter

If you had to describe the game Sword Hunter in a few words, it’s ‘non-stop action’. In the game, your hometown is overrun with thugs and rival gangs. You are the only one who can stop them!

The game is fine for short gaming sessions. The levels are short and the controls are super simple. Swiping moves through the map and taps the screen to attack. By defeating enemies you earn coins. This gives your character new abilities, items and weapons.

Do you remember Sensible Soccer? The classic football game with lightning-fast (and oh-so-good) gameplay? Super Arcade Football seems to get its inspiration from this.

The controls are nice and simple and the game has a funny retro look. You pass the ball with the tap of a button. If you keep the button pressed longer, you shoot the ball hard. Easier right? The bar above the player shows how hard you are kicking. For everyone who thinks back to the old football games with a smile, Super Arcade Football is a must.

5. Noir

Bee iPhoned we are big fans of the dark mode. This function makes white areas and screens black, and vice versa. The new Noir app builds on this concept. This extension for the Safari browser turns every website you visit into a dark version. This is especially nice when you visit the site in the evening.

Noir is of Dutch origin and tailor-made for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, the updates that appeared last week. This way, Noir works very smoothly with the dark mode of your iPhone and/or iPad. The app costs 2.99 euros and does not collect any personal data. Your privacy is therefore guaranteed.
