Vacuum robots are actually not able to climb stairs. However, the new Migo Robotics Ascender is different: It can climb stairs and thus also clean multi-storey houses. The stairs themselves are also vacuumed and wiped, but the Ascender is not a bargain.

Migo vacuum robot climbs stairs

Autonomously driving vacuum robots can make household chores easier, but the supposedly smart devices reach their performance limits on stairs. So far, anyone who lives on several floors has had to move the robot up or down themselves. This is exactly where the new Ascender model from Migo Robotics comes in. It can climb stairs by itself – and the stairs themselves are also cleaned in the process.

To be able to climb steps two lateral arms move out of the vacuum robot, which move the device up or down. The sides then retract again so that the vacuum robot can take care of the step you have just climbed. Then the game starts again from the beginning.

This is how the special vacuum robot works:

According to official information, Ascender can clean an area of up to 480 m² with one battery charge (source: Migo Robotics).
