The so-called Polestar O₂ is very interesting in many ways. It is an electric sports roadster, with the aim of shaping the future of electric convertibles, which are still elusive in the EV industry. The design of the O₂ is closely related to that of the Precept, the brand’s four-door GT concept. At the same time, the bonded aluminum platform has been adapted to the Polestar 5, which will be launched in 2024. Surprisingly, the hardtop convertible is a four-seater, unlike typical roadsters.
Delivered with a drone
The car comes with a unique accessory: it comes with an integrated autonomous drone that can fly around and film you while you drive. cool! To create this cool movie making feature, Polestar teamed up with Aerofugia’s consumer electronics brand, Hoco Flow.
A special wing that goes up behind the back seat allows the drone to take off when the car is in motion. The drone operates autonomously and follows the car at speeds of up to 90 km/h. The driver can also choose between an atmospheric or action-packed sequence, depending on his environment.
