Renders of the as yet unannounced Samsung Galaxy A83 have appeared. It shows the phone with the new camera module with water drop design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Samsung has a whole bunch of new phones in the Galaxy A series in the pipeline, and we can expect them in the coming period. That will be the Galaxy A13, the A33, the A53 and the A73. Thanks to LetsGoDigital and Technizo Concept, we can now add the Samsung Galaxy A83. It will be the spiritual successor to the Galaxy Quantu, which was launched exclusively in China and India. This ‘Galaxy A82’ never came to other regions. The predecessor of that phone, by the way, was the legendary Samsung Galaxy A80 with its rotating camera.

The concept of the Galaxy A83 comes without the rotating camera, but with the renewed camera module that the Galaxy S22 Ultra would get. That is a two-piece camera setup with space between the left and right parts. The phone is seen in a black and a mint green color.

Possible specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A83 5G will probably have a flat Dynamic AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and possibly with a high QHD + resolution. The Samsung Galaxy Quantum 2 got a 64 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 5 MP macro camera. The Galaxy A83 will have the same or improved setup. An IP67 certification is also expected, just like the Samsung Galaxy A52 and the Samsung Galaxy A72. This certificate includes the following:

• IP67 certification: the product is submersible, meaning that when submerged, it is protected for half an hour to a depth of 1 meter

In terms of performance, there is talk of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ from 2019, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The latter could be expanded via a microSD card. There is also a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging.

Launch Samsung Galaxy A83 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A80 received a suggested retail price of 649 euros. That is the same suggested retail price as that of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. We expect to welcome the successor of this device next month. A month later, the Galaxy S22 series will see the light of day. We are very curious how the Galaxy A83, the Galaxy S21 FE and the Galaxy S22 compete with each other in terms of price. In any case, Samsung has not yet announced anything about the existence of the Samsung Galaxy A83 5G.
