this is what the Dynamic Island could look like on the iPad

Perhaps the coolest feature of the iPhone 14 Pro is the Dynamic Island. With this, Apple makes the new, pill-shaped notch part of the interface. A new concept shows that the Dynamic Island wouldn’t look out of place on the iPad Pro either.

Dynamic Island on the iPad Pro: this is what it looks like

The biggest surprise during the presentation of the iPhone 14 Pro was the Dynamic Island. With this, Apple makes the bar that replaces the notch part of the software. It changes shape when you receive a call, for example, and immediately shows who is trying to reach you. Even if you use Face ID or receive a notification, the Dynamic Island shows cool animations. This is how Apple cleverly turns a weakness into a strength.

Reason enough for designer Parker Ortolani to see what the Dynamic Island might look like on the iPad Pro. In addition to the possibilities that are already available on the iPhone, the island can also house new options for multitasking. It could even be an alternative to Stage Manager. That new feature in iPadOS 16 has been criticized a lot. The release of the new software has therefore been postponed.

Please note: this is really a concept. There is currently no indication that Apple wants to bring the Dynamic Island to the iPad Pro. However, it would be a good way to make the bezels around the screen even thinner than they already are. That is only possible if space is found for the selfie camera and Face ID components.

This is what we know about the new iPad Pro

Apple will likely present new iPad Pros (without Dynamic Island) at a special event in October. Not much is known about the new tablets yet. Presumably it is again an 11-inch and a 12.9-inch model. There were rumors that the small variant would get a mini LED screen just like its bigger brother, but that doesn’t seem to be happening. It is obvious that both models run on the faster M2 chip that is also in the MacBook Air 2022. They may also be able to charge wirelessly with MagSafe.
