This is what a Samsung phone with a 30,000 mAh battery looks like

A Samsung Galaxy A32 5G with a gigantic 30,000 battery. That’s what someone on Reddit managed to do. The phone does not deserve a beauty prize, but it will last for weeks.

A Samsung with a mega battery

The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G comes standard with a 5,000 mAh battery. That is already a large battery by today’s standards. Most smartphones sold today have a battery of around 3,500-4,500 mAh.

Reddit user u/Downtown_Cranberry44 didn’t think that was enough. He has modified his Samsung Galaxy A32 5G, a mid-range phone that is currently available for around 380 euros, with a new battery. That battery provides a considerably longer battery life, namely six times the usual capacity of the phone.

Few weeks of battery life

Most people will use the 5,000 mAh battery of the Galaxy A32 5G for about two to three days on a charge, according to our review. But the custom battery of a whopping 30,000 mAh (or 30Ah), the phone can easily last a week or even two on a single charge. The Redditer says charging the battery also took a whopping seven hours.

All that extra capacity comes from several Samsung 50e battery cells, which the Redditer bought for about $5 each. The modded phone weighs about a pound and is somewhat chunky to say the least. As a nice touch, the Galaxy A32 also has two USB-A output ports for charging other devices, as well as USB-C, micro-USB and lightning inputs.

Don’t try this at home

There are of course many reasons why you shouldn’t modify a phone with such a battery capacity. First, there’s the safety aspect, as a modification like this, even with a solid case, is more easily damaged. And on top of the enormous impractical size of the whole, you should not use such a battery capacity everywhere. in an airplane for example.

Still, it’s always nice to see what some creatives are capable of. Although we do not recommend anyone to imitate this at home.
