iPad Pro 2022: Officially Announced

The new iPad Pro 2022 is the successor to the iPad Pro 2021 that appeared on May 21 last year. Apple’s largest tablet has again received a number of innovations. This time, Apple did not announce the iPad Pro at an Apple event, but with press releases.

There will again be two versions of the iPad Pro 2022: a 12.9-inch and an 11-inch. Both versions are very similar, but have a few differences.

Now with M2 chip

The biggest innovation is the M2 chip. Apple has already put this super-fast chip in the MacBook Air 2022. The M2 chip is the successor to the M1 that is in the iPad Pro 2021. According to Apple, the M2 chip is a lot faster than the previous version. You notice this especially when you work with heavy editing, such as with video editing.

Pencil Hover Experience

We find a nice innovation in the Apple Pencil 2. This is already detected on the new iPad Pro at about 12 mm above the screen. The iPad can, for example, open a window to register before your Pencil touches the screen.

You can also, for example, adjust the thickness of the brush when drawing, while you can already see a small preview on the screen under the tip of your Apple Pencil. Apple calls it the Apple Pencil hover experience.

Faster WiFi

Furthermore, the WiFi connection of the iPad Pro has been renewed, so that a speed of 2.4 Gb/s is now possible. That’s twice as fast as the previous iPad Pro’s connection. There are also models that now support 5G networks worldwide.

Familiar design

The design of the iPad Pro 2022 has remained almost the same. The best Apple tablet of the moment has exactly the same appearance as its predecessor. That means you have round, rounded corners with thin edges.

Apple has also announced the prices of the iPad Pro 2022. As expected, the iPad Pro models have become a bit more expensive again. These are the new prices.
