this is how the alternative to the postage stamp works
You want to quickly send a card to a family member, friend or colleague, but you don’t have any stamps nearby. This is no problem with the PostNL Stamp Code. We explain how this works in this article.
PostNL stamp code
Congratulate someone, put a heart to the belt or just send a card? Always fun. Very handy if you have stamps at home. Don’t have it? Then that shouldn’t be a problem. All you need is the PostNL app. You can then use the Postal Stamp Code. In this article we explain how you can use this and what you can do with it.
The Postal Stamp Code is an alternative to the postage stamp. In the place where you normally stick the stamp on an envelope or postcard, you now write the nine-digit code that you get, consisting of letters and numbers. You can easily create the Stamp Code via the PostNL app. Very handy; you can also use the stamp code for a postal item abroad. If you want to send a card to a friend in Sweden, send a letter to your family in Spain or the like, then you no longer have to go to the post office for international stamps. Via the application you can put multiple stamp codes in ‘your shopping cart’ and pay everything in one go at the end. Good to know; the stamp code is valid for five days after purchase, so you have to put the postal item in the letterbox within those five days. This is partly as security so that malicious people cannot just gamble a code.
How do you buy a stamp code? We explain this via the steps below;
- Open the PostNL app
- At the bottom of the navigation bar, tap ‘Send’ here
- Select the ‘Letter’ option here
- You will then receive an overview of the rates for the Netherlands. When you tap on the country, you can change the relevant country here.
- Select the postal item or items for which you need the code, confirm and pay.
- You will then see the PostNL stamp code that you can write on the card or envelope.
