Android: Integrated trackers control the data volume
Android includes a feature that tracks data volume. Depending on the manufacturer, each user interface is different. However, users always find the function on their smartphone in a similar way.
This is how Android shows you the data volume used
To view the consumption display, first open “Settings” under Android. Then look for the tab that contains the functions related to the network and the Internet.
Depending on the brand, this area is named differently. On some devices, for example, you can find the function under “Connections”.
Next, look for the “Internet” or “Cellular Network” option. Sometimes this sub-item is simply called “mobile network” or something similar. Here you will see the name of your mobile operator.
There you should now be able to see your mobile data usage via the gear icon. You will also be shown how much data volume you have already used with your smartphone in the set billing period.
You can also break down your usage further and, for example, display the data consumption per app. You can also see which applications are using your data in the background.
This is how you regulate your data consumption
In this area you can now set which apps are allowed to use your data volume. You also have the option of denying individual applications access to your mobile data.
In addition, you can specify when the billing period begins again. For most contracts, this should automatically be the first day of the month.
You can also have Android send you a message when a certain part of your data volume has been used up.
Alternatives: Control data volume on Android
If the overview on Android is not enough for you, you can alternatively download various apps to control your data volume consumption.
In addition, the mobile phone providers themselves often offer apps and customer services that you can use to keep an eye on the consumption of your mobile data.
