This flower turbine fits on every house roof

Particularly efficient and also fairly quiet: A Dutch-Korean company has come up with a new type of wind turbine that is intended for private homes. Even with little wind, as much electricity should be produced here as with two solar modules.

Wind energy from the roof of a house: New turbine from Holland

The Archimedes company has presented a new wind turbine, LIAM F1 UWT, aimed at home owners. If solar is not an option here or if wind energy is to be added, the system can be worthwhile – at least that’s what the manufacturer says. Even from one “Reinvention of the Windmill” is the talk.

The wind turbine looks very different at first glance. The well-known propeller shape is dispensed with, instead the wind is captured by a spiral in the shape of a flower. The shape is intended for a significantly increased efficiency worries. According to the manufacturer, the system can harvest a full 48 percent of the energy flowing through (source: The Archimedes). It turns with the wind.

Since special noise protection requirements apply in residential areas, the system is designed to be particularly quiet. The Archimedes speaks of 48 dB as the maximum volume at a distance of one meter. Under normal conditions, you shouldn’t even be able to hear it on the floor.

Other manufacturers are also experimenting with new wind turbines:

Wind turbine: power like two solar panels

According to the manufacturer, the system, which weighs around 120 kg, can be used for a average power of 700 watts worries. This roughly corresponds to two solar modules. Unlike solar modules, however, the wind turbine can, at least theoretically, run 24 hours at a time, provided there is wind.

at one much larger model The Archimedes is already working. Here the spiral of the system is to have a diameter of 2.8 m. An output of 2,000 watts can be expected here.
