This chic Ikea table can do something extra
Ikea has designed a beautiful chic table, but it can do something that other tables can’t. And no, it’s not a radio.
Ikea needs no introduction. Almost everyone has something from the company at home. In recent years, Ikea has increasingly come up with innovative solutions for ‘problems’. Now again. The company has made a table that not only looks chic, but also filters your dirty air in the house.

The undersigned suffers from hay fever. When the pollen goes into the air in the spring, I sneeze and cough. An air purifier in the house is then a good solution to at least not completely break down inside. But in general cleaner air is healthier for everyone. Nowadays you have a lot to choose from in different price categories. From a simple device of 50 euros to an expensive high-tech cleaner that you can control via apps. IKEA is now going to enter the market by sticking to its hallmarks: affordability and minimalism.
The Swedish do-it-yourself giant releases two ‘Starkvind’ devices. One is a floor-standing air purifier and the other a side table model. They should cost $129 and $189 respectively. In euros it will be similar. However, you also have to pay for a separate smart home hub to access the app-based controls. Think of 30 euros.

Inside is the same technology. Both contain a three-filter system designed to capture larger particles such as hair and dust; 99.5 percent smaller airborne particles that are less than 2.5 micrometers (or one 400th of a millimeter) and dust and pollen; and pollutants such as formaldehyde and even bad odors. Handy nonetheless. And it doesn’t even look bad.
