Apple TV Plus 2023: series and movies

In 2022, Apple has shown that they take Apple TV Plus seriously. Revisit our list of the best Apple TV Plus series of 2022 to see what we mean by that. But as it stands, 2023 will be an even bigger year for the streaming service.

Below we list the series and films that have been announced and will be released this year. In addition, you can of course expect more unannounced series and films, as well as new seasons of current series.

New Apple TV Plus series in 2023

The War For Football

The European Super League would be a new and huge football tournament. In this four-part documentary series you will see how this plan was set up and why it never went through.

The War For Football can be seen from January 13.

Shrinking

In this comedy, Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) plays a therapist who, after a great loss, decides to tell the truth to everyone, including his patients. Extra fun is that the father of the main character is played by none other than Harrison Ford.

Shrinking can be seen from January 27.

Dear Edward

Edward Adler is the sole survivor of a plane crash. The 12-year-old talks to others who have been affected in some way by this tragedy. A series including Connie Britton and Taylor Schilling.

Dear Edward can be seen from February 3.

Apple TV Plus 2023

HelloTomorrow!

Billy Crudup has the lead role in the new sci-fi comedy Hello Tomorrow! with a nice retro-futuristic vibe, about a group of people who try to rent out houses on the moon.

Masters of the Air

After Band of Brothers and The Pacific, Masters of the Air comes from the same team. This is the biggest series of the year, especially when it comes to budget. The series is made by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, starring Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan and Ncuti Gatwa, among others. The first three episodes are directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective, No Time to Die).

The series will have nine episodes and is about the American bombers who flew to Germany during World War II. There have been many casualties there, so this is not going to be an easy one.

Wool

For a good dose of science fiction on Apple TV plus you have to be with Wool in 2023. In this series you follow the last humans in a post-apocalyptic world. They live in the Silo, an underground city of 144 floors. This raises doubts as to whether the people who protect them have the right intentions. With Rebecca Ferguson, Rashida Jones and Tim Robbins.

Lessons in Chemistry

Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) plays a scientist in the 1960s and is the only woman on a team full of men. When she falls in love with a colleague, she has to leave. Then she starts a cooking show to teach housewives scientific knowledge.

Do you want a top cast? Then you get a top cast. The Extrapolations series tells different stories about the effects of climate change on our planet. Starring Meryl Streep, Edward Norton, Tobey Maguire, Kit Harington, Gemma Chan and more.

New Apple TV Plus Movies 2023

Argyll

The new film Argylle also has such a fine cast. Henry Cavill plays a spy with a strange haircut and amnesia who thinks he’s a spy novel writer. Then his memory returns. Starring Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, and John Cena, among others. Singer Dua Lipa is also coming to see if she can act.

Napoleon

Apple has asked none other than Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator) to make a film about Napoleon Bonaparte. Joaquin Phoenix plays the lead role. That can’t be anything other than one must-see turn into.

Killers of the Flower Moon

Martin Scorsese’s latest film will also be coming to Apple TV Plus in 2023, starring Leonardo DiCapro and Robert DeNiro. The film is about the investigation into the murders of several Native Americans after the discovery of oil on their land.

Tetris

A movie about Tetris? That game in which blocks fall down in different shapes and you have to position them in such a way that entire lines are played away? Yes, of course. And this will not be a funny animation film in which the blocks come to life. Starring Taron Egerton, this movie is about the legal battle over game ownership during the Cold War.
