these new features are coming

Apple has provided its iWork apps with a number of new features. They are now free to update via the App Store. In this article you can read everything about the new features.

Read on after the ad.

Pages, Keynote and Numbers get new features

Apple’s popular iWork apps are getting a number of features. These are the apps Keynote – similar to Microsoft PowerPoint – and the powerful word processor Pages. Numbers is also getting an update. The updates bring different features per app.

For example, in Pages you can now add page numbers everywhere in your document and you can change the font size more accurately to two decimal places. In iOS it is now possible to open a new document directly from the home screen. You do this by holding down the app icon for a while. Do you write books? These can now be published directly to Apple Books with a maximum file size of 2GB.

Keynote is getting fewer new features. From now on, slides can be enlarged to a maximum zoom level of 400 percent, which is nice if you are very fond of details. You can also change the font size more precisely to two decimal places, just like in Pages.

Numbers gets three useful functions. You can now copy snapshots of table cells without formulas, categories, or hidden values. Changing the font size more accurately is also part of Numbers. Finally, you can now use Apple’s VoiceOver to create formulas and quickly fill cells.

More about Apple’s iWork apps

Apple’s iWork apps are automatically pre-installed on every Apple device, so you can get started right after purchasing your new iPhone, iPad or Mac. The full versions of similar programs (such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) often cost quite a bit of money.

However, Apple’s iWork apps do much the same thing and are complete compatible with their Microsoft competitors. This means that you can open text files in Word and Pages, for example. It is therefore not surprising that many Apple users work with the iWork apps.
