August comes to an end, and then these five classics are gone from Netflix. So take a quick look.
Every first of the month there is a whole list of new movies and series that are added to the offer on Netflix. But in addition to new titles, films are also disappearing.
Also in this beautiful August month. It’s still the holidays so now is the time to work on your classic film repertoire knowledge. We pick five classics from the list of films to be removed.
Contents
Halloween (1978)
Classic disappearing from Netflix number 1; Halloween. On a chilly and cold Halloween night in 1963, six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murders his 17-year-old sister Judith.
That put him in jail for 15 years. On October 30, 1978, he escapes while being transferred to trial. He steals a car and escapes. He returns to his hometown to look for new victims.
Including the legendary Jamie Lee Curtis. Disappears from the streaming service on August 31.
Mission Impossible (1996)
Another Netflix classic and the original of the series. When Tom Cruise was still married to Nicole Kidman. Tom plays Ethan Hunt and has to carry out a secret assignment with his mentor Jim Phelps (a role by Jon Voight) that goes completely wrong. Jim is murdered and number 1 suspect is Ethan.
That is the beginning of a struggle to prove his innocence. Ethan Hunt assembles a team of people to help him enter the heavily guarded CIA building to prove his innocence. Disappears from the streaming service on August 31.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
Humor to laugh. Will Ferrell plays television host Ron Burgundy who receives the new reporter Veronica Corningstone in the studio where he is all the man. The reporter is played by Christina Applegate.
The story is set in the seventies, where emancipation in the television world was not yet complete, shall we say. The lady in question does quite well and surpasses him on air. That causes a lot of jealousy in Ron and so he starts a feud on live TV.
Of course that can’t go well and the best man makes a big slip. He sees an opportunity for revenge when a scandal comes to light at the San Diego Zoo. Departs Netflix on August 31.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Wes Craven’s slasher film pur sang. The classic of the classics in this genre. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) goes after teenagers in the Midwest. He hunts them in their dreams, but that kills the teenagers in real life.
Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) investigates the phenomenon and stumbles upon a dark secret that may hold the key to unraveling the mystery. With Johnny Depp as Nancy’s boyfriend. This film will also disappear from Netflix on August 31.
Titanic (1997)
The movie hit of the nineties, with the title song by Céline Dion. Despite the fact that it may still be worth watching before this film also disappears from Netflix at the end of August.
Is there anything else we need to say about this movie? Leonardo di Caprio sails on a famous boat where he has an affair with Kate Winslet. The boat hits an iceberg on April 15, 1912. Spoiler alert: boat sinks. Three hours of swooning with Leo and Kate.
