Spotify about the winner of the Song Contest 2022

The 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest starts on Tuesday with the first semifinal, which also includes the Netherlands, the second semifinal is on Thursday, and the grand final is on Saturday. Last year, Italy won with Måneskin in Rotterdam. So this year, the song festival will be held in Italy, in the city of Turin. That song was also predicted as the winner by Spotify last year. The song was the most listened to on the streaming service in the period before the festival. Now Spotify is once again sharing an overview with the prediction of the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022.

This year, according to Spotify, Italy would win again. The duo Mahmood and BLANCO achieve the highest number of streams with the song ‘Brividi’ in 70 percent of the 40 participating countries. Sweden would finish in second place. Cornelia Jakobs is a big favorite with the song ‘Hold me Closer’. If we go by the information from Spotify, it becomes clear that the Netherlands will also be on the podium. In third place we find S10 with ‘De Depth’, which is responsible for the third most streams.

Due to the war in Ukraine, the Ukrainian entry is also a potential candidate, but Spotify does not predict how many it will end. The song ‘Stefania’ by KALUSH does reach 6 million streams worldwide. In one third of the Eurovision countries, the number is in first or second place. In the Netherlands this is second place.

Incidentally, it is good to report that the rest of Spotify’s list last year was not quite right. In the coming week we will get the answer to the question of which country will host the Eurovision Song Contest next year.
