Four features that the iPhone 14 will get

If all goes well, you can still buy the iPhone 14 this year. There are now so many rumors about the new device that you sometimes just don’t know what to expect. No worries! These are the four features that the iPhone 14 will (almost certainly) get.

1. There will be no iPhone 14 mini

It is a pity on one side, but there will no longer be a new iPhone mini. The new models of the iPhone 14 will consist of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Max, both with a 6.7-inch screen. In addition, there will be a regular iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, both with a 6.1-inch screen.

Are you looking for a small iPhone? Then you should choose the iPhone 13 mini or the iPhone SE 2022. Both have been available for a while.

2. Appearance Differences Between iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro

At first glance, all models of the iPhone 14 will have the look and features of the iPhone 13. However, things will change, especially with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The notch disappears with these two devices. Instead, Apple has put Face ID and the front camera in two holes.

The notch on the iPhone 14 Max and the iPhone 14 will probably remain the same as on the iPhone 13. This notch is, incidentally, 30 percent smaller than that of the iPhone 12.

3. iPhone 14 sticks to the A15 chip, iPhone 14 Pro gets A16

The iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max keep the A15 chip that is also in the iPhone 13. However, the RAM will be upgraded from 4GB to 6GB. The new chip (the A16) will only be available in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

It is not yet certain whether Apple might change the name of the A15 chip in the iPhone 14, for example to A15X. Apple can also choose to use the slightly more powerful version of the A15 chip from the iPhone 13 Pro in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max.

The GPU of the regular iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini has four cores, just like the A14 Bionic chip in the iPhone 12. According to Apple, they deliver 30 percent better performance than competing smartphones. The A15 Bionic chip of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max has an extra core. The five cores would be good for 50 percent better performance than the competition.

4. Biggest Front Camera Upgrade Ever

The selfie camera gets the biggest upgrade in years. According to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the features of the front camera of the iPhone 14 are being overhauled. The new camera will get autofocus, among other things, but there is more to be done.

Autofocus and aperture goes up

The aperture goes up from f/2.2 (iPhone 13) to f/1.9. This will allow more light to enter the camera and the photos you take in the dark will look a bit better. The autofocus and the improved aperture ensure that the photos you take with the selfie camera also have more depth. This is of course ideal for portrait photos.

In addition, according to Kuo, the iPhone 14 Pro will have a 48-megapixel sensor. This could give the camera more functions in the future. The regular iPhone 14 remains at 12 megapixels.

iPhone 14 release

It is fairly easy to predict when Apple will release the new iPhones in 2022. Apple usually launches the new iPhones in September. If we go by the past few years, this will be our prediction of the iPhone 14 release.
