These are the electric models from America
Tesla is no longer just any small carmaker. The e-car pioneer has blossomed into the most successful in its class and is – measured by market value – the largest automotive group in the world. A lot has happened since the beginning and Tesla boss Elon Musk has also expanded the product range. We have the overview.

Roadster: How it all began
The Roadster is practically that Prototype of all Teslas. The concept of the high-performance electric sports car provided the initial spark for today’s success – not least by bringing Elon Musk on board. The Roadster is now considered the first modern electric car, it was built from 2008 to 2012. The aim was to generate the necessary funds to be able to advance Tesla’s actual plan: electromobility on a large scale.
The Roadster had a battery capacity of around 53 kWh and was therefore powerful enough for long-distance journeys, which were unrivaled at the time. According to the manufacturer, with the original Roadster up to 350 km range inside. The plan was to use the Roadster to demonstrate the possibilities of electric cars and at the same time to generate capital for another model: a luxury sedan with an electric drive, later the Model S.
Model S
In a way, therefore, the Model S is the crown jewel in the Tesla fleet. The luxury electric vehicle was planned practically from the start. Tesla currently offers two versions of its top model. Although it has completely different goals than the roadster, that too Model S extremely sporty. It puts the original values of the Roadster in the shade one and all.
The Model S Plaid reaches a top speed of 322 km/h with a Range of up to 637 km according to manufacturer information. Three electric motors are used. In the standard version (maximum range), the usual dual motor stops at 250 km/h, but drivers have a range of 652 km. The starting price was originally given as 86,990 euros. However, Tesla now informs customers before they place their order that the final price will only be determined over time after the order is placed. All orders are considered pre-orders only until the price is announced, and deposits are fully refundable.
style 3
The Model 3 is Tesla’s by comparison cheap entry-level model and has also become the most popular Tesla. However, the price has been raised sharply in recent weeks and months. The cheapest standard version starts at 49,990 euros. Those who bought in better times could also get the Model 3 for more than a third less.
For the money there is also a significantly slimmed down version with a maximum range of 491 km according to the WLTP standard. The more expensive Performance and Maximum Range versions offer significantly more with a range of 547 km and 602 km respectively. Therefore the prices also start from 61,990 or 56,990 euros. In terms of equipment, comfort and space, you have to make compromises with the Model 3 compared to the Model S. Another thing that should bother Tesla customers is the long delivery time, the cheaper the configuration of the new e-car is.
Model Y
The Model Y is on track to become Tesla’s most successful electric car. At Tesla, too, the trend is clearly towards greater comfort in an SUV. On the one hand, it is based on the Model 3, but as an SUV, it brings the space advantage of the Model S to a lower price range – albeit in a completely different way than in the sedan:
The Model Y is also available in a performance edition (250 km/h, 514 km range) and with a maximum range of 533 km (217 km/h). Prices start from 56,990 euros. The additional space is noticeable on the one hand through the higher platform, so that passengers have more legroom. On the other hand, the loading capacity is improved many times over. Instead of a small trunk flap, the opening on the Model Y stretches all the way to the roof, which makes loading easier and also allows for much larger loads. But you have to do without the long, continuous panoramic roof here.
What you should know about Tesla besides electric cars:
Model X
The Model X is probably the most striking among Tesla’s electric cars. The gullwing doors clearly determine the appearance of the most powerful SUV of all, according to the manufacturer. The announcement and the eye-catching exterior hide one thing: Actually, the Model X is a rock-solid family car – with that certain Tesla extra:
Depending on the model, customers can choose between 5, 6 or 7 seats. With an extra screen for the rear seats as standard, Model X is designed for trips with many occupants than other models. As with the Model S, the same applies here: The price will only be finalized when production is about to be completed. So far, it starts at 105,990 euros.
Two versions are offered: The Model X with a longer range has a range of 560 km at a maximum of 250 km/h. The Plaid version with triple motor can reach 262 km/h, but only has a range of 536 km. For Model X and Model S are the Estimated range based on US data. Model 3 and Model Y, on the other hand, have passed the range tests according to the WLTP standard.
Cybertruck
With the Cybertruck, Tesla boss Elon Musk wants to break new ground in electromobility. The massive, angular structure is reminiscent of good old pixel graphics on the one hand and the best apocalypse epics on the big screen on the other. The production of bulletproof armored glass and stainless steel does the rest. Whether or when the Tesla monster will become a reality is not yet foreseeable. The plan is: It should be this year.
Ironically, the huge windscreen called Cybertruck should then have a good 800 km range in the best equipment. Prices are not officially known yet, rumor has it that three variants will appear between 40,000 and 70,000 euros should lie. With the current price development, however, that should hardly be enough.
Roadster 2: The Return
Tesla’s path to success began with the Roadster. More than a decade later, the electric sports car is set to return. Corresponding announcements are made by Elon Musk from time to time. Current plan: 2023 should finally be the time. But the new edition will not have much in common with the roadster of yesteryear:
With one battery charge, the Superstromer 1,000 km range can create, but only with economical driving. Expect three electric motors. In addition, Tesla will probably offer a SpaceX package. The rocket company is also owned by Tesla boss Musk. That extra bit of acceleration in the Roadster is said to be made possible by cold gas turbines. Simply put: The Roadster gets a rocket engine that is supposed to work with compressed air.
So you want to make the Roadster the only series electric car that on 400 km/h top speed comes. The sporty Stromer will probably start at a price of at least 230,000 euros.
