The Personal History of David Copperfield – March 4

Director Armando Iannucci (The Death of Stalin, Veep) reimagines Charles Dickens’ classic masterpiece about the life of a studious orphan boy (Dev Patel) in Victorian England. The beautiful film won awards for best film, best script, best production design and best costumes at several well-known international film festivals.

When young David Copperfield (Dev Patel) is evicted by his stepfather, he goes from one adventure to the next, meeting some of Victorian England’s most eccentric characters, including his extravagant Aunt Betsy (Tilda Swinton). His journey leads him from rags to riches and back again, but the studious Copperfield faces both ups and downs with his head held high.

X – March 11

Groovy ode to the classic slasher horror and sex movies of the seventies with strong acting from Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness) and Jenna Ortega (Scream). Ti West’s original story has a sublime build-up of tension that culminates in relentless violence.

In 19179, young porn filmmakers clash with the elderly owners of the remote ranch in Texas where they are shooting their new film. The hosts, an elderly farming couple, show great interest in their young visitors. But as night falls, their curiosity quickly turns into something much more horrifying, and the desperate crew must fight for their lives.

The Innocents – March 19

A critically acclaimed, highly chilling thriller from Oscar-nominated Norwegian screenwriter and director Eskil Vogt (Blind). In 2021, the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won fifteen awards at international film festivals.

Four children between the ages of six and twelve befriend during summer vacation in Oslo and discover they have psychic powers. Out of sight of all adults, they explore their new gifts in the forest. But their innocent game soon spirals out of control and takes a dark turn. Bizarre things start to happen resulting in death.

Chaos Walking – March 25

Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland in a futuristic action film about a young couple who have to survive on a planet where all women have disappeared and the thoughts of all men are made audible by a dark force.

In a not too distant future, Todd Hewitt (Tom Holland) discovers the mysterious girl Viola (Daisy Ridley) who has crash-landed on his planet. On this planet, all women have disappeared and the men are plagued by ‘The Noise’ – a force that ensures that all men’s thoughts can be heard by everyone. In this dangerous world, Viola’s life is threatened and Todd promises to protect her. For this he will have to discover his own inner strength and unravel the dark secrets of his planet.
