In times of inflation, many supermarkets are fighting more than ever to please their customers. The branch design, waiting times, the variety of offers and of course the price play a major role. In our weekly ranking we present the ten best supermarkets in Germany.

Offers, quality, value for money and accessibility are important factors that concern us when choosing the right supermarket. In order to determine the currently best supermarkets in Germany, the German Institute for Service and Quality (DISQ) 14 grocery stores compared.

These are the best supermarkets in Germany

With the help of so-called mystery tests, the institute examined the supermarkets between June and September 2022. In addition to offers, quality and accessibility, the evaluation criteria also included advice, communication and waiting times.

In the following ranking we present the results. The maximum yield is 100 points. The final quality rating ranges from “very good” to “unsatisfactory”.

10th place: Penny

Tenth place in the ranking goes with 69.5 points to Penny. Overall, the food discounter, founded in 1973, achieved the rating “satisfactory”.
