Every student wants to download these 6 apps
Students have a lot on their mind. A busy social life, millions of deadlines, moving out and having little money – just to name a few. Fortunately, the App Store is full of useful apps to make student life a bit easier.
1. Evernote
Taking notes is very useful. After all, during a lecture you get waves of text, which you can’t all just type quickly. Taking quick, well-arranged notes is a smart way to stay on top of the lesson as well.
Evernote makes notes even more useful by adding text, images, sound, scans, PDFs, and documents. You always keep important information within reach. Your notes automatically sync with all your devices. Do you take notes on your iPad? Then you can easily find it on your iPhone.
2. Evernote Scannable
Do you prefer to take notes in a notebook or notepad? Notes have to be handed in digitally every now and then, but as a student you don’t have an expensive scanner at home. After all, you live on a budget of a few cents a month – let’s keep DUO out of this, please. Fortunately, Evernote Scannable exists to help you out.
Scannable scans your document using the camera of your iPhone or iPad. Thanks to a little help from Artificial Intelligence, the app turns your ‘scan’ into a digital file that you can tell. In most cases you hardly notice that the document has not been scanned with a real scanner. And it won’t cost you anything.

3. Simple Mind
mind maps; how stupid are those things. You make creating mind maps a bit more fun, easier and clearer with the Simplemind app. The mind maps you make are also completely digital; so you can save them as a document and easily submit them online.
You can add photos, videos and voice memos to your mind map in Simplemind. This gives your future mind maps a whole new dimension. The free version of the app will take you a long way. If you really want all functions, you will have to pay a small amount.

4. Picolo
Student life is tough, but there’s also plenty of room for a bit of fun. While excess alcohol consumption should never be encouraged; Picolo is truly an iconic game that every student should have played once. Don’t you drink alcohol? Then you just play it nice with a glass of water.
Picolo gives you and your fellow players all kinds of crazy, difficult, funny and sometimes downright ridiculous assignments. If you don’t carry out an assignment properly, you have to drink. The free version of the app already contains hundreds of different commands. For a small monthly fee you unlock all kinds of extra themes. We’ll repeat it one more time: play this game responsibly, don’t you.

5. Big oven
Cooking is fun, but it can be exhausting. Especially if you’re a student and just want to party – or have to study for your exam week, of course. Fortunately, there are many easy recipes that are not so time and money consuming. The Bigoven app will help you find those recipes.
In addition to a million(!) recipes, Bigoven offers a number of useful extra functions. For example, there is a Meal Planner available, with which you can plan your meals for the coming week. You immediately create a shopping list, based on the recipes you have chosen. Bigoven also calculates which meals you can make from leftovers. Useful!
One thing though: the app is not available in Dutch. So you may need to enlist the help of Google Translate from time to time.

6. 9292
While this app tends to give you a tendency to wreck things on rare occasions, most of the time it works completely as it should – and saves you a whole lot of hassle. 9292 fully plans your journey by public transport for you; from door to door. The departure times and travel time are clearly indicated.
9292 differs from the NS app, for example, by also showing the departure times of trams, buses and ferries. The app also tells you how long it is still walking from, for example, train to bus, or bus to front door.
