WhatsApp innovations on the way
The information about the three innovations has been found and described by WABetaInfo. This website is more often the first to report information about upcoming updates in WhatsApp. The changes were found in beta versions of the app. Whether and when the new functions will be implemented in the normal app is therefore still the question.
1. More choice of backgrounds per conversation
In the test version of WhatsApp, instructions were found for more backgrounds. This way you can choose from dozens of new wallpapers in both dark and light tones. In addition to backgrounds with a beautiful image or nice pattern, you can also choose from even more fixed colors.
It should also be possible to set a different background for each conversation. You can also adjust its brightness, so you can personalize WhatsApp much more. Great, because that was one of the annoyances mentioned in our WhatsApp opinion piece that we published earlier.
2. Remove sound from video to be sent
In addition, instructions have been found to remove sound from a video that you want to send. To do this, click on a new speaker icon before sending. So that’s different from the option to send a short video as an animated gif image. This option has been available for a while, but does not work with videos that are too long.
3. Mark messages as ‘read later’
Finally, a ‘read later’ function has been found in a test variant of WhatsApp. That would simply mean that you can park a message for a while and read it later. If a new message arrives in such a marked conversation, you will be temporarily not notified.
This way you can concentrate on (school) work or, for example, during sports. The function is an extension of the previously found ‘vacation mode’ for WhatsApp, which should also provide more peace of mind.
More developments in WhatsApp
Have you read all the news about the latest updates for WhatsApp? For example, a large load of 115 new emoji will soon be available for everyone and you can automatically make messages disappear from conversations. By the way, beware, because scammers are becoming more professional and increasingly use WhatsApp to find victims.
