The world’s first luxury private train

Really beautiful and luxurious trains hardly exist, but that is about to change now that a designer of yachts starts making one.

Luxury villas, cars and yachts are becoming more and more extreme. However, trains are missing. Yes, our royal family has some fancy train cars. But it’s not the real deal anyway. Soon we can expect a luxurious and beautifully designed train.

Luxury private train

The designer is Thierry Gaugain. He is now working on a new project. The G train, the world’s first luxury private train, takes the decadence of great trains like the Orient Express one step further. This is because it is designed for one owner. Gaugain says, “it is not a public train or passenger train.” And it comes with a hefty price tag, as the estimated cost of the train is over $350 million.

The G train is a masterpiece of 21st century design and engineering. The colossus is 400 meters long, shrouded in 3,500 m² of special technical glass. The train can reach a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour. This tops it off with four custom locomotives that can run on all tracks in America and Europe, from the Mediterranean coasts to Scandinavia and Russia.

Everything on board

It can accommodate 18 guests. That doesn’t seem like much and it is. But the guests are not short of anything. The train has two sections: one for the owner’s accommodation and entertainment area and the other for the crew and guest quarters. There is a large VIP suite, three VIP suites and three additional suites, plus a VIP lounge. For social events, the wings fold down to form outdoor patios for parties, dinners or concerts.

By the way, your cars and motorcycles can also come along. The exterior of the train will be made of next-generation technical glass, making the train visible or invisible to anyone who sees the train passing, creating a gold-colored, opaque exterior design. The question is who will ever order this device.
