The update for PS5 also brings 3D audio to TV and better game sorting -apkrig
As it turned out during the day, the new beta firmware for the PlayStation 5 also offers other interesting news, not only support for expanding SSDs. Let’s start with 3D sound, for example. Support for 3D audio will now be used by those who listen to the sound from the TV. Until now, it only worked with headphones. With the help of a microphone on the DualSense controller, it is possible to measure the acoustic parameters of the room so that the 3D sound is optimized for the respective conditions.
Sony has also taken another step towards streamlining cross-gen games and different versions. Different versions of the same title now appear in both the library and the dashboard, with the icon indicating the default platform. Until now, this has been quite confusing, because users have often overlooked which version they are actually installing because of voters. In addition, it initially happened that some games were illogically preferred on the PS5 and “pushed” users as the primary worse PS4 version.
Improved buddies, trophies and parenting tools
If you would like to ask what it could be for once you install the correct version, the answer is: Hitman 3. If you want to play both the PS5 and VR versions, all you have to do is install the PS4 version as well. The PS5 version does not offer virtual reality support, so you must have both titles on the disc.
The management of friends has also been improved, it should be easier to find out how many friends you have online and what they are like. Users will also find news in trophies that provide a different display and sorting. News can also be found in the tools for parents who receive a notification on their phone when their child asks to play a game.
The first batch of recommended SSDs
Of course, we will also come across innovations that unfortunately not be appreciated by domestic players. For example, PlayStation Now users can choose to stream the game in 720p or 1080p resolution.
And Digital Foundry magazine, meanwhile, has already come up with the first batch of recommended SSDs for the PlayStation 5. Of course, the list includes the Seagate FireCuda 530, which we already mentioned today. Samsung 980 Pro and Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus. Sony meets the preconditions and parameters on paper, but Digital Foundry still wants to contact all manufacturers to make sure they work. And of course the magazine is going to test this function.
