The adaptive brightness of Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6a is failing. This defect is one of the few small problems experienced by Google devices. This adaptive brightness is sometimes very slow to calculate changes in ambient light and sometimes ignores them altogether. We then end up with a screen that is too dark in direct sunlight or the exact opposite when we are in the dark. The various system updates do not change anything.

The problem is such that many users prefer to switch to manual mode and adjust the brightness slider through the drop-down panel at the top of the interface (the one for notifications). How to fix Pixel 6 brightness issue?

1/ Device Health Services

Meet in the Settings of your Pixel 6, 6 Pro or 6a then go to Apps and Show XXX Apps. Scroll down the screen until you find Device Health Services and select it.

2/ Reset…

Once in the information page, choose Storage space and cache then Manage space. Press on Reset brightness adjustment at the top of the screen. Confirm to restore adaptive brightness to default settings.

3/ Fixed!

Once you follow these steps, you will notice a slight drop in brightness on your Google Pixel screen. This means that all the adaptive brightness AI has been reset and the learning process will start again. Voila, your adaptive brightness is fixed!
